# Connect your Intercom data to Geckoboard

Learn how to connect to Intercom and begin visualizing your data.

**Intercom's Free plan does not allow API access**. To connect Intercom with Geckoboard, you'll need to upgrade to a paid Intercom plan.

To get started with our [Intercom data source](/content/product/data-sources/intercom/index.html), you'll need to connect your Intercom account to Geckoboard.

1. After adding a new widget from your dashboard, click **Connect via Intercom** on the connection panel.

2. In the new window that opens, if prompted, **log into Intercom**.

3. Make changes to the following options if needed:
   
   1. On the line that says, " _Geckoboard app wants to access Your Company Name_", **open the dropdown** and make sure the correct Intercom account is selected (see item 1 in the image below).
   2. Choose the correct **Data host region** from the dropdown (see item 2 in the image).

4. **Authorize access** when ready to complete the connection.

You'll now be returned to your dashboard while we complete an initial import of the last 31 days of your data. Once done, you can [begin customizing your widget](https://support.geckoboard.com/en/articles/6055531-customize-intercom-widgets).
