# Create multiple series charts using spreadsheets

In this guide, we'll cover how to create line or column charts from your spreadsheet that have multiple series of data.

## Create multi-series line chart widgets

1. After connecting your spreadsheet to Geckoboard, click and drag to select the cells you want to visualize.

1. Line chart widgets require at least:
      1. 1 date, string (for X-axis labels), or numeric column
      2. 1 other numeric column

2. By default, Geckoboard reads the data in columns, so if your data series is arranged in rows, click **Switch rows and columns**.
3. Make any changes needed for the configuration and then click Save.

## Create multi-series column chart widgets

1. After connecting your spreadsheet to Geckoboard, click and drag to select the cells you want to visualize.

1. Column chart widgets require at least:
      1. 1 date, string, or numeric column
      2. 1 other numeric column
