Casting your dashboard to a screen using Chromecast or Apple TV is only suitable for testing or brief, temporary presentations. For an always-on dashboard display, use our [recommended hardware](https://support.geckoboard.com/en/articles/6055736-recommended-computer-devices-for-displaying-geckoboard-on-a-screen) with an officially supported browser.

## Why casting isn't reliable

Casting requires:

- Your computer to stay on and connected
- The browser tab to remain open
- Your computer not to sleep or disconnect from Wi-Fi
- Constant use of your computer's resources

These requirements make casting unsuitable for the always-on display most teams need.
