# Connect your Matomo data to Geckoboard

Steps to connect directly to Matomo and access key domain performance metrics.

1. Add a new **Matomo** widget from your dashboard.

2. Select from the list of preset metrics, or build your widget from scratch.

3. Select the **Domain** where your Matomo account is located.

1. This should match the domain you use to log in to Matomo.

4. Add your **Account name or hosted URL**.

5. Enter your Matomo **API key**.

1. This can be generated by going to Personal > Security.

6. Click Connected.
